NYC free screening alert: Poetry by Lee Chang-Dong

0

Way back when, we told you guys about the series of free screenings that the Korean Cultural Society of New York was putting on. Well, at the last minute they’ve added one more film to the docket. Poetry, by director Lee Chang-Dong, will be playing at the Tribeca Cinemas next Tuesday (December 20th) at 7 PM for the beautiful price of free. It’s first-come first-serve, however, so don’t show up at the last minute expecting a seat.

The film won the prize for “Best Screenplay” at Cannes in 2010, which is pretty awesome, and has something to do with suicide, murder, poetry, and other terrible things. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend, but anyone in the area totally should. Korean movies are amazing. Also depressing.

Really, really depressing.
