Here’s your first look at Eli Roth’s upcoming cannibal movie Green Inferno. One of Roth’s favorite movies is Ruggero Deodato’s Cannibal Holocaust, which may explain the Cannibal Holocaust-y vibe coming from this pic. Wonder what Roth thinks about Cannibal Ferox aka Make Them Die Slowly, Umberto Lenzi’s even-scuzzier entry in the “cannibals gonna cannibalize” genre.

According to Twitch, the plot of Green Inferno involves some New York City students/activists who crash land in the jungles of Peru. Stranded, they are then held captive by the indigenous tribe that the set out to protect. Pictured above, actress Kirby Bliss Blanton is not having a good time with her new friends.

Though no release date has been set, Green Inferno will be out later this year. The full still can be seen in the gallery.
