By Reportedly getting a trailer sometime this week, The Wind Rises is Hayao Miyazaki’s next upcoming project and like anything he does even a few stills/posters are gorgeous. The film is based off of a manga of the same name and tells the story of Jiro Horikoshi, the man who designed the Mitsubishi A6M Zero fighter plane. That’s the plane you think of when you think of Japanese fighters in WWII. Yea, you know the one.
While the movie doesn’t have a Western release date yet it will be releasing on July 20 of this year, and with Disney penchant to bring Studio Ghibli films over at a decent clip we should see it some time in 2014. I’m definitely looking forward to another Miyazaki directed Ghibli film as the studio’s last outing left me wanting a bit more.
