By A pretty big batch of new releases and re-releases on DVD and Blu-ray this week, with the biggies being The Place Beyond the Pines, Oblivion, Mud, To the Wonder, On the Road, West of Memphis, and the execrable Aftershock. Other titles in the new release batch include Eddie: The Sleepwalking Cannibal, Michael Clarke Duncan’s final film A Resurrection, and Antiviral, the debut film by David Cronenberg’s son Brandon.
On the re-release side, there are anniversary editions of Disney’s The Sword in the Stone and Robin Hood, a re-issue of the cult Alex Winter film Freaked, a Riddick box set, and the Sylvester Stallone/Dolly Parton classic Rhinestone. If you’ve never seen Rhinsetone before, I’ve included a glorious scene from it after the cut which features Sly Stallone singin’ his ever-lovin’ heart out.
