Images, details for Jordan Peele’s Us hints at a monster movie

We got a couple shots and a few details on Jordan Peele’s follow up to Get Out, and they seem to suggest something more traditionally horror than his previous work.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, he said that he “wanted to do something that was more firmly in the horror genre but still held on to my love of movies that are twisted but fun,” so it probably won’t have the longer comedy bits that broke up Get Out but will retain some level of dark humor.

Beyond that, all we got was his intention to “create a monster mythology” and the mention that these monsters will be called the Tethered.

The plot, as far as we know right now, follows Adelaide and Gabe Wilson (Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke) as they take their kids to Adelaide’s childhood home for the summer. She has the usual past demons return to haunt her and becomes paranoid about her family’s safety. Cue the weird cultish group holding hands one night in their driveway (pictured below), and you got yourself the start of a horror movie!

It’s all pretty vague at the moment, but Us is scheduled to release on March 15, 2019, so more details should flood the new year. Something to look forward to.
