Lord of the Flies is more terrifying with girls in Ladyworld trailer

0

Lord of the Flies, a literary classic about the horrible things that happen when you leave adolescent boys to form their own society, has been the fodder for film adaptations and interpretations since at least 1963, but this trailer for Ladyworld seeks to set it as the most unnerving adaptation yet.

There’s some genuine tension and creeping dread here. The trailer gives a great sensation of the girls’ unraveling mental state as they’re trapped inside a house after some apocalyptic event strikes their slumber party. Once girls start using makeup to go into creepy clown territory, you know the train’s come straight off its tracks. The music used in the trailer is suitably eerie, as well.

I look forward to seeing more of Ladyworld when it hits limited theaters August 2 followed by a VOD/DVD release on August 27, 2019.
