Trailer for The Room (no, not that one) shows the horror of dreams come true

0

Perhaps there is a such thing as too much of a good thing, the trailer for Shudder-bound The Room poses in a freaky looking bit of home horror. In it, a couple of city slickers decide to settle down with a house in New Hampshire (always a bad idea), and find a secret room in the house. This room can bring their wildest dreams to life, but are they’re consequences?

I mean, yeah, duh.

Off we go with a twisty bit of paranoid horror as the titular room creates a child for the couple that seems like an evil little turd. So, I suppose the room did an authentic job.

This is one of those trailers that feels a bit too long and gives the sense that you’ve seen the entire movie by the time it’s over, but the framing looks good and the idea is inventive enough to pique some interest.

The title, however, is no good. We all have to agree to retire The Room. There’s only one film that name will ever conjure in people’s minds, and honestly if you can’t think of a title more original than The Room, then you’re just not trying.

The Room will open to Shudder in the US and UK on March 12, 2020. Maybe if you wish for Tommy Wiseau to appear while you watch it, he will. Couldn’t hurt to try.
