A much newer look at the Ratchet and Clank movie

0

Ratchet and Clank is pretty much perfect material for an animated film. It’s titular characters ooze charm and fun and, in a rare occurrence, they can be pretty easily separated from the game play. Thus, movie time… or more like eventually movie time. It’s been a bit of a long road for this one and judging from the new trailer the focus may have shifted a bit from what we last saw

The first trailer for the film has landed and it actually seems somewhat in line from what I remember from the series (haven’t played it for many years). Maybe that’s because Insomniac had a hand in this all along.

Interestingly there doesn’t seem to be much of a hint at the movie working the game’s game play into it. It’s got all the obvious plot points, but aside from that there isn’t anything ringing special about this to me. The only thing that kicked was rating their relationship a 7, otherwise we’ve seen this trailer parody before so it doesn’t give us too much of an idea of what’s to come.

Ratchet and Clank will release on April 29, 2016, which is hella later than it was originally slated for.
