Aaron Sorkin BBC interview on his next film and HBO project

As someone who had to study Aaron Sorkin’s dialogue work in a screenwriting class in college, I think I might have been one of the few people my age not to raise a questionable eyebrow when we all heard there was going to be a movie about Facebook. With his renewed popularity just about to peak with a probable Academy Award win or two or ten, it leaves a lot of us wondering what his next step will be.

According this BBC video interview with Sorkin, the story he’ll start writing next is the adaptation of Andrew Young’s The Politician, which is Young’s personal account of accepting the blame for the John Edwards affair scandal so that Edwards could continue his campaign until the truth eventually came out.

He also commented on a TV show, and this time it wasn’t to bash Sarah Palin by comparing her to Michael Vick. Instead he announced that he’s trying to bring a show to HBO about a cable news network, which in my mind is a Sorkin spin on The Onion, which would be amazing given his previous work with West Wing and Sports Night.
