Ad company recuts movie trailers using Vine app

Earlier this week, director James Mangold tweeted a six second trailer for his upcoming The Wolverine using Twitter’s new video loop creator, the iPhone app Vine. The post has caused a bit of a stir in the trailer-making community, and the validity of a trailer that lasts only six seconds is being hotly debated – and now satirized. In response to The Wolverine‘s Vine trailer, Glass Eye Inc commissioned the UK based trailer makers at TOKYO to recut classic trailers and post them on Vine.

Check out below the jump for Vine trailers for Jaws, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and more! You can also see more Vine trailers on this twitter account. What do you guys think of this new form of trailer? Can a movie be successfully teased in only six seconds? Or do you think it’s more of a gimmicky use of popular social technology?
