By Ahmet Zappa (Frank Zappa’s son) has got the go ahead from Sony to produce Dodge and Twist (not to be confused with a book of the same name for some reason), a “re-imagining” of that one Wishbone story, Oliver Twist. It’ll be set 20 years after the events of the original story, and Dodger is now a super thief who plans to steal the “Crown Jewels” while Oliver, who is now a cop on the edge who doesn’t play by the rules, has to stop him.
While this sounds an awful like that one other “parkour” version of Oliver Twist, Twist, being rumbled about last year, it’s a completely different project. Also, this sound just terrible. Are there any other beloved literature characters to mine for rebootquels? How about Don Quixote: Dino Hunter or Tom Sawyer: Used Car Salesman?
