Animated short film: Out of Sight

0

This five minute story is a must watch for all Miyazaki fans, and it’s hard for me to think of anyone else who wouldn’t greatly enjoy watching this touching story of a blind girl who loses her seeing-eye dog.

After being robbed of her purse, her dog runs off to retrieve her item and she’s left to wander through a part of town that’s outside of her daily routine. What we see from there on is what she sees in her head, and it’s fascinating as a street comes to life as she touches and smells new objects. A house is nothing but a cube of bricks until she hears a door open and a window is meaningless until she can smell the bread behind the bakery’s pane of glass.

Just sick back, watch, and enjoy this short story that will stick with you all week. When you’re done you can see more charming pictures at its website, as well as find out more information on how it was made. I picked a few pictures from the site to include in the image gallery below.
