Anomalisa receives its first gorgeous trailer

Anomalisa may not be on your radar yet (or if you pay attention to these things it may be), but it will be once award season starts coming up. Charlie Kaufman’s stop-motion animated feature has been universally praised not just for looking incredible, but for being yet another perfectly constructed film.

From this trailer you can see it’s full on Kaufman in possibly a way that only an animated film could truly grasp. What’s interesting is that it possibly doesn’t need to be. His stories our so soulful that even here it brings things to life. I haven’t had a chance to see this yet, but I can’t wait until we get one because I think it’s going to be something special.

Anomalisa will release in select theaters on December 30th and nation wide in January.
