By Justin Kurzel, director of the 2015 MacBeth adaptation, has been chosen to direct the Assassin’s Creed movie [feat. Michael Fassbender]. It’s still set for an August 7th, 2015 date, but considering they only just now found a director, I wouldn’t be surprised to see that move.
The Variety report that broke this story also makes particular mention of the first game’s story, which may be yet another indication that Assassin’s Creed will not be an original tale.
I don’t know what to make of this. It’s almost May 2014, so I have trouble believing the people behind this movie will put out a real banger in just over a year. Writer Michael Lesslie was even confirmed to be working on a re-write. So they only just now found a director, the script is currently undergoing re-writes, and they’ve got just one year left?
Yeah, $10 says they push it back.
