Atlanta has been renewed for another season, and I can breathe a sigh of relief.
On Thursday, FX ordered another season of the two-time Emmy winning show that has been making waves on cable television. Atlanta, born from the always captivating mind of Donald Glover, has received ample critical acclaim from all corners of the television industry, and with good reason. This show is consistently surprising, thorough in its exploration of surrealism, and so tightly written it couldn’t be written any better.
Here’s what Nick Grad, programming president of FX Networks and FX Productions had say about the renewal:
“With Atlanta Robbin’ Season, Donald and his collaborators elevated the series to even greater heights, building on the enormous success of their award-winning first season,” Grad said. “We’re grateful to the producers and our extraordinary cast and crew for achieving this level of excellence, and we share the excitement with our audience about the third season knowing they will continue to take us to unexpected and thrilling places.”
Atlanta wrapped it’s second season not long ago, and if you read my review, you know that it was a phenomenal piece of work. More Atlanta is always a good thing. Considering how hot Donald Glover is right now, I hope this next season draws even more people in to see this excellent show.
