Battlestar Galactica will be Bryan Singer’s next film

Perhaps Warner Bros producing another Knights of the Round Table film (Arthur & Lancelot) was responsible for the demise of Bryan Singer’s planned Excalibur film, but this round of undercutting may have turned out for the best.

During a recent interview, director Bryan Singer stated that cancellation of Excalibur has opened up his schedule. Next on his agenda? Motherfraking Battlestar Galactica. He stated:

The project was with Warner Bros. and what happened is that another King Arthur project was brought to them during that time. Basically, it was just more ready to go into production than ours was…But, when that happened, it allowed me to go straight into developing Battlestar Galatica–which I think will be really exciting.

I realize that Singer’s Battlestar remake won’t have anything to do with the amazing SyFy series and it will fail to give me the opportunity to ogle Grace Park without having to watch the awful CBS series Hawaii Five-O. Still, any extension of the universe is welcome in my book. So say we all.
