Batwoman is coming to the Arrowverse in next crossover event

DC can’t get its ass out its head (yes, I said that backwards, that’s how backwards they are) with its movies, but on the TV side of things the “Arrowverse” has been solidly good as a whole. By taking some of the smaller DC characters, CWing them just a bit, and delivering solid, season-long stories that get way darker than you expect they’ve delivered year in and out. Hell, Supergirl is doing Superman better than Superman does Superman.

And now they may get a chance to do Batman better than Batman as Batwoman is going to roll into the shared multi-verse of the shows when the next big crossover lands. This also pulls in Gotham city, and, one would assume, Batman — in the same tangential way that Supergirl has included Superman. To be clear, this isn’t the announcement of a Batwoman show, just a cameo by the character when SupgirlLegends of TomorrowArrow, and Flash (probably not Black Lightning) all come together once again to battle some big bad.

Stephen Amell let the news drop at CWs upfronts (where they also announced a schedule shakeup for the shows):

“We’re incredibly excited to announce that we’ll be doing another crossover event this fall on the CW, and we’ll be introducing a new character. For the very first time appearing, we’ll be fighting alongside Batwoman, which is terrific. The crossover is going to make it to air in December. I need to leave right now and start filming it.”

These shows are basically CWs grounding force so if there’s a good reaction I could easily see them developing a Batwoman show on its own. Thanks to the establishment of multiple universes in the show’s canon you can do a lot of awesome stuff in a lot of different ways, and you don’t even have to worry about Gotham continuity… not that they would.
