2016 is drawing to a close, which means we’re that much closer to the Assassin’s Creed film adaptation. In this recently released behind-the-scenes featurette, we see star Michael Fassbender and director Justin Kurzel talk about grounding the movie in the actual, physical world. The video offers a few glimpses of stunts, fights, and parkour.

You know, the sort of stuff I do before getting a bagel and a coffee every morning.

Check out the featurette below.

Gosh, the interviews in these behind-the-scenes featurettes, right? Sometimes they seem like they’re done at 11:30pm after a really long day on set.

Regardless, the use of safety wires and the actual stuntwork involved is pretty great. I’m glad more filmmakers are considering how CG can enhance in-camera action that’s grounded in some sense of reality. I’m not totally sold on Assassin’s Creed yet, but as an action nerd I’m intrigued.

Assassin’s Creed comes out December 21, 2016. Let us know if you even parkour, brah, in the comments.
