By We still don’t know very much about Gareth Edward’s Star Wars spin-off, Rogue One, but the information we do have – Alexandre Desplat will score, and Felicity Jones will star – is interesting, if nothing else. Now we may have a new cast member ready, in the criminally under-utilised Ben Mendelsohn.
Mr. Mendelsohn has done quite a few exceptional smaller roles over his career, and while his face is one many people will recognise immediately, it’s well overdue that people remember his name. He’s recently made a fuss as the eldest brother in Netflix’s latest (and best?) original series, Bloodline, and he really impressed in last years Starred Up. Outside of those role, you may have seen him in movies like The Dark Knight Rises, Animal Kingdom and The Place Beyond the Pines.
Disney has yet to comment on the story, but it’s easy to imagine him as a rough main villain, so let’s hope it turns out to be true.
