By The studio behind such CG family films as Ice Age and Rio recently announced the the voice cast for their upcoming film, Epic. Receiving top billing are The Hunger Games‘ Josh Hutcherson, the Total Recall reboot’s Colin Farrell, and Dreamgirls‘ Beyonce Knowles. Rounding out the cast are Johnny Knoxville (Jackass 3D), Amanda Seyfried (Lovelace), Jason Sudeikis (Horrible Bosses), Aziz Ansari (30 Minutes or Less), Judah Friedlander (30 Rock), Blake Anderson (Workaholics), rapper Pitbull, and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler.
The film, which is based on William Joyce’s children’s book, The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs, “tells the story of an ongoing battle deep in the forest between the forces of good and the forces of evil. When a teen age girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she must band together with a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters in order to save their world…and ours.”
Epic is scheduled to release in theaters on May 24, 2013.
