Bill and Ted Face The Music has officially begun production. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news today and revealed that the film has a targeted release date of August 21, 2020. The long-awaited sequel will see the return of Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter as the titular characters as they face mid-life and get one last chance to rock. Certainly sounds like a Bill and Ted film.

Reeves gave a message to fans, saying, “We want to say thank you to you fans.” Winters added, “We owe you a huge debt of gratitude.” Speaking specifically to The Hollywood Reporter, Reeves explained how Face The Music will feature the character’s children as central characters. “I’m sure they can’t help but have a bit of their mothers and fathers in them. So we’ll see how that expresses itself,” he noted.

There’s an incredible amount of talent going into this film and all past interviews have made this seem like a passion project for Reeves and Winter. I somehow missed the boat on the original two films, but I’d be willing to take one last tubular trip with Bill and Ted. It’ll be especially hilarious to see the now serious Reeves try and be comedic again.
