Blood on Her Name trailer offers some tense backcountry noir

Blood On Her Name | Official Trailer (HD) | Vertical Entertainment

Here we have a sweaty, low-income slice of noir with a trailer for Blood on Her Name. There’s something about Southern Gothic imagery that always gets me. The tarnished look of the world, the beaten trucks and more beaten people, it reminds me of home--not that I grew up in the South proper. Rural Pennsylvania is basically a hair’s width from Kentucky when it comes to culture and makeup, though, so it’s close enough for jazz.

Blood on Her Name sees a woman’s world torn apart when an accidental killing leads to a crises of conscious and she decides to bring a dead man’s corpse back to its family. Yeah, if there’s one thing I’ve learned from a lifetime of thrillers it’s that it’s usually best to get rid of dead bodies.

Either way, this looks like a good nail-biter, and it sounds to have plenty of that sweet, sweet, Southern dialogue. Let’s hope it lives up to all those hype-quotes when it releases in theaters and VOD on February 28, 2020.
