By Even with all of the illustrious new options like the sequel to a nine year old movie and, uh, football, it looks like everyone just decided to watch Guardians of the Galaxy again (or stayed at home and watched the big Simpsons marathon like I did) as it claims the top spot this week with $17 million. If you’re wondering how Sin City: A Dame to Kill For performed, it drew in only $6.4 million.
I’d hate for this to signal the end of Rodriguez’s career, as I’m one of his biggest supporters, but he’s done. Hit the jump for the box office performances for the August 22-24 weekend.
