Box Office Numbers: Pitchy, dawg

0

Like most folks last weekend, I was torn between seeing Mad Max and Pitch Perfect 2. With only enough time and money allowing only one of the two, I chose Fury Road because my roommates have done the same. I was originally going to review Pitch Perfect, but after look at Jackson’s reaction, maybe it’s best I didn’t. I’ve once said a sequel wouldn’t work, and it totally proved me right.

Anyway, Perfect 2 dominated the box office with $70 million, and that’s five million more than the original made in its entire theatrical run. So good on that series. Fury Road made less than the project $50 million, but they should be proud of the $44 million. Hopefully we get more movies like it.

Hit the jump for the box office performances over the May 15-18 weekend.
