Broadway to ruin Once on stage

Broadway producers and movie producers must be born of the same evil, because it seems all they do is remake and rehash existing properties. So it should come as no surprise to hear that Broadway goons are bringing Oscar winning movie musical Once to the stage.

Apparently, this is something that has been in development since 2008. John N. Hart Jr., Jeffrey Sine, and Frederick Zollo bought the rights back then, and have now scheduled the musical to hit the stage this fall. John Carney, director of the movie, once said that “I don’t think it would play at all on a stage.” And I agree with you, sir. Why tamper with something that’s perfect? Once is easily one of my favorite movies of all time. To see some hack Broadway producers ruin it in the name of a buck pisses me off to no end. You’ll have to excuse me, I’m going to nerd rage about this on Twitter.
