Captain America defects to the Koreans

Well, sort of. Chris Evans is in talks to play the lead in Snowpiercer from director Bong Joon-Ho, most famous for his monster movie The Host, which is South Korea’s highest grossing movie of all time. Park Chan-Wook, he of Oldboy fame, will produce and is credited as co-writer.

Few details about the movie have been revealed, although it will be in the English language – a first for Bong Joon-Ho, although Park Chan-Wook recently wrapped filming on his domestic directorial debut Stoker with Mia Wasikowska and Nicole Kidman – and concerns a world wrapped in perpetual winter where a train carriage full of survivors have to find a way of co-existing and presumably putting up with that guy who keeps leaving his stinky socks lying around. Appropriately enough, Evans is just coming to the end of the shoot on his current project, entitled The Ice Man.

Production on Snowpiercer is expected to begin in March.
