By None of us have heard of Chad Stahelski and David Leitch, but we all know that some really awesome people directed John Wick. They are those people, and when a sequel was announced it was assumed they’d be coming back, but much like a mobster who kills John Wicks dog David Leitch is gone.
Collider is reporting that Stahelski will helm John Wick 2 solo. This doesn’t mean Leitch is out. Instead he’ll be credited as the Executive Producer. Why the change? Well, it probably has something to do with the fact that both these guys are in demand after John Wick did so well in the box office. As they should be. The two have done extensive work in action cinema and it all showed up in the truly awesome John Wick.
The only concern is that Leitch’s departure means the film will only be half as awesome as the original, but considering how awesome the original was that’s still pretty awesome.
