Check out some Sucker Punch concept art

Zack Snyder’s upcoming movie, Sucker Punch, looks a lot like his previous movies. That is to say, a bunch of CGI gibberish that’s all flash, no substance, and completely lacking in subtlety. Do you like singular shots that go into slow motion and then go into fast motion and then back to regular speed? If so, you will probably like Sucker Punch.

Of course, it’s unfair to judge this movie based on what little I’ve seen of it. That said, I’ve now seen a bit more, thanks to some concept art that Slashfilm was able to get its hands on. The sketches are by Alex Pardee, who has a distinct visual style. The sketches here appear to embody a sort of graphic novel aesthetic halfway between Western and manga conventions.

It’ll certainly be interesting to see how closely Snyder mirrors these sketches in the film. As anyone who has seen Watchmen knows, Snyder clearly has a great respect for upholding the integrity of his source material. Check out more of the sketches at the link below.
