Check out the original Star Wars trilogy as maps

These awesome posters were made by artist Andrew DeGraff for an upcoming two person show featuring DeGraff and fellow artist Bennett Slater. The show will be at Gallery 1988, which we’ve talked about before. In these works DeGraff has created maps for each of the three movies in the original Star Wars trilogy –  A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

I love how the whole story for each movie is told in seemingly simple lines and patterns, no map keys or legends or even words appear on each piece, but if you’ve seen any of the movies the scenes are instantly recognizable and relivable. DeGraff’s works seem to evoke a playful dance between movie screen, memory, and storytelling. More info on DeGraff’s upcoming show here.
