Chris Evans is on the verge of returning to the MCU

After the events of Endgame, a weathered Steve Rogers, full of a life well-lived, passes his shield and the mantle of Captin America to Sam Wilson. “How does it feel?” he asks as Sam tries it on. “Like it’s someone else’s” Falcon replied, Steve, reassures him “it’s not.” A heartfelt moment as one hero with impossible shoes to fill acquiesces to father time and another taking in the monumental task.

With Tony Stark gone and Rogers on his way out, we all thought the MCU would be moving on without two of the most notable Avengers. But things change and money talks. According to Deadline, Chris Evans is nearing a deal to return to the MCU and wield the shield once again. While it isn’t official at this time, it’s clear Marvel Studios dropped a bag too big for Evans to decline. Per the Deadline exclusive, the revitalized partnership would be for a role in at least one MCU property, but not a standalone Cap film. Chances are we’ll see Evans portraying Cap in spot roles in other MCU movies.

Evans had this to say in response:

There’s only speculation as to how Evans would be looped back in once someone fills him in about the deal. However, with the ever-expanding IP Disney has at its fingertips, it wouldn’t be difficult to bring Cap back into the fold, especially with his two closest friends sharing a show together. However he returns, we can hope he’ll film some more PSAs.
