Chronicle director knows nothing of the Fantastic Four

Recently, with all the hype being built around Chronicle, releasing this Friday, director/writer Josh Trank’s name has floated around a number of different project, chief among them a reboot of Fantastic Four with Fox. The idea was that, if Chronicle does well at the box office, he would be offered Fantastic Four as a chance to put his superhero sensibilities on screen with a much, much larger budget. Last Friday, I interviewed Josh about Chronicle (you’ll see that full interview a little later this week), and he had this to say when I asked him about Fantastic Four:

“Not true. I have nothing to do with that. That’s The Internet talking completely.”

He went on to say that he’s currently developing some original ideas, which is an especially large relief as I’d much rather see the man work on his own material, rather than in some other IP, considering how Chronicle is shaping up. And hey, since we’re on the subject, who would you like to see tackle Fantastic Four? Hell, no one can mess it up quite as badly as Tim Story did, right?
