Clooney withdrawing from U.N.C.L.E.

First off there’s something wrong with me because my mind instantly made a very disturbing sex joke after I typed that headline.

Second off George Clooney is reported to be leaving the lead role of Steven Soderbergh’s The Man From U.N.C.L.E. The news comes from Deadline who don’t have much information on why he’s left, but just know that he is currently working on removing himself from the production. It is a little odd since you wouldn’t think Soderbergh and Clooney would have any issues with each other after working together so many times.

Whatever the reasons the film is still reportedly on track for its February, 2012 release window. I’m not sure if the crowd who will feel the effects of nostalgia from U.N.C.L.E. are really going to pour out for the movie, but if they can replace Clooney with some just as enjoyable (a very hard feat) then we’ll probably still have a winner on our hands with Soderbergh directing.
