Cloudy 2: Revenge of the Leftovers exists, Mr.T replaced

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs was quite enjoyable for me, so when a sequel was first announced I was actually quite happy. When I was dragged to the original, I was surprised by the well scripted jokes that sometimes bordered on the inane, but generally worked. Changing from the sequel’s original title Pickles in Pittsburgh (most likely to further separate from the book of the same name), Cloudy 2: Revenge of the Leftovers is an original story in which:

“Live Corp has been charged with cleaning up the island after Flint’s contraption that turned water into food led to a mess of huge pancakes, pizza slices and, of course, meatballs garnishing the pulverized town in the original film. But in the sequel, the machine is still sputtering away somewhere — only now it’s pumping out living pickles, a walking, gibberish-talking strawberry named Barry, and creatures like the giant, french-fry-legged bacon cheesespider, which lords over the abandon town like a massive cholesterol-spiking tarantula.”

To go along with the plot synopsis, there are new details for the cast. Almost every character will return with their respective actors, but Mr. T’s Earl will now be played by the super manly Terry Crews (who is an appropriate replacement).  Kristen Schaal is set to play an orangutan with a human brain inside of a monkey’s brain, and Will Forte will play her owner. I am really liking the sound of all of this since each of those super food beasts will force the writers to use “cringeworthy puns.” Awesome.  Cloudy 2 will tentatively release February 7, 2014.
