Confirmed: Spidey costume has web-shooters

You speculated correctly, Flixist readers! When we brought you the first image of Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, many of you spotted silver implements on the inner wrists of his Spidey suit. For fans in the know, this could only mean one thing: web-shooters!

At least one good thing came out of last night’s Golden Globes. In an interview on the red carpet, MTV got the scoop from Emma “Gwen Stacy” Stone that the new Spider-man costume created for Marc Webb’s reboot does indeed feature web-shooters. Stone only had to say three words to make a lot of people happy, confirming that “it’s a device.” Bless you Emma Stone! You can check out the rest of the interview over at MTV.com.

In Sam Raimi’s Spider-man series, Toby Maguire’s Parker developed an organic ability to shoot web as part of his mutation into the costumed hero. However, Stan Lee and Steve Dietko’s original Spider-man used a mechanical device to shoot web, and it appears that Webb is resurrecting this feature. I wonder what other original features Webb will use in his franchise reboot. Any ideas or hopes for what they could be? Let us know!
