The folks at Fox have spent an obnoxious amount of money on Deadpool 2 marketing, and to be honest, it’s been pretty solid. Compared to the normal run of the mill teasers and trailers, Ryan Reynolds and company have provided some fun promo material for the upcoming film. The latest promotion includes a cameo with super soccer (or football, whatever) star David Beckham.
In the video, Beckham is watching on repeat the clip of Wade Wilson bust on his voice. Beckham’s intensity is like those shoe commercials of athletes watching their past failures while they fake-train in the weight room. Except he’s sitting on a couch watching Ryan Reynolds make fun of him. As if on cue, Deadpool shows up at his door and makes numerous attempts to ask for forgiveness in the lovingly heartfelt way that only he can. Beckham eventually relents, but not before firing off a shot about Boltneck.
