David Ellis’s untitled shark pic gets a distributor

Sharks, as proved by Shark Week, are dangerous as hell. However, they are also awesome as hell. This is a paradox man has grappled with since our first ginger steps into the ocean. It’s why we love Jaws  so much, other than the fact that it’s a masterful thriller. Also, dudes be getting they arms ate and sh*t.

David Ellis, director of Snakes on a Plane and Final Destination 2 has been shopping around his shark attack movie formerly known as Shark Night 3D, which is now The Untitled David R. Ellis 3D Shark Thriller. Relativity Media has just picked up the film for distribution, putting it on track for a 2011 release date. The film stars Donal Logue, Katharine McPhee, and Sara Paxton, and the plot revolves around a group of people at a Louisiana lake house that get attacked by sharks which are in the lake for some reason. Maybe the locals are eeeeeevil!

Piranha 3D set a wonderful precedent for shlock-tastic 3D B-horror movies, and let’s hope this follows in the same vein. David Ellis did direct Final Destination 2, which was basically a series of Rube Goldberg machines that ended…

Also, I totally though Donal Logue was dead or something. Was he big in the 2000s, or am I thinking of someone else?
