Dennis Christopher for Django Unchained

Quentin Tarantino’s 2012 Western Django Unchained is building up a pretty terrific cast, with Jaime Foxx, Leonardo Di Caprio, Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson already in place. A new name has been added to that list in the wake of Kevin Costner dropping out: Dennis Christopher, star of the 1979 coming-of-age movie Breaking Away, has signed on to play Leo Moguy, lawyer to DiCaprio’s villainous plantation owner Calvin Candie.

I’ll be honest: I don’t know a thing about this dude and had to look him up on Wikipedia before writing this article. He seems to be a solid journeyman actor, though, with credits including Chariots Of Fire, Deadwood and guest-starring roles in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Enterprise and Joss Whedon’s Angel. No offence intended to Mr. Christopher, but he also has a pretty good face to be a sleazy Western lawyer. You know, as an actor. Because I’m sure he’s utterly charming in real life and wouldn’t dream of suing a humble internet movie news writer for defamation. I think this post needs to end now.
