Despite Avengers: Endgame rerelease, Avatar will remain the all-time box office champ

Avengers: Endgame wants to beat Avatar so bad, they are willing to try anything. That included a rerelease of the film featuring new footage over the weekend. Could a couple of extra minutes dethrone James Cameron’s furry blue tyrant king?

No, of course not.

While Avengers: Endgame scored another $5.5 million at the box office over the weekend with an additional $2.3 million worldwide, it is still $27 million short of Avatar‘s all-time take of $2.78 billion. Avengers: Endgame could score some additional money over the 4th of July with the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home, yet The Hollywood Reporter notes that it will be impossible for Avengers: Endgame to overtake Avatar at this rate.

The final box office take for Avengers: Endgame will probably be a paltry $2.77 billion, which is a pathetic amount of money. Expect another desperate plea for money in the coming weeks.
