I may be at the age when I’m supposed to be jaded and dulled to the promises of Disneyland, but I’ve nevertheless still loved the magic and the feel of the place, when I’m not being overwhelmed with anxiety by wading through a crowd that’s around 50,000 strong. The magic, it seems, is dulled for hotel employees at the resort’s hotels, it seems, as they are starting a campaign against Toy Story 3, Disney’s primary contender for Best Animated Feature, or possibly Best  Picture, through the website www.notoystory3.org organized by the Unite Here union. The reason for the boycott is a new heath care plan for Disney employees at a price very few hourly Disney folks can afford, with a price tag as high as $535 a month for a family of four within the next five years.

I have a roommate that’s a Disney cast member, and, living in Anaheim, I know several more. I know how little the Mouse pays its people. This is absolutely disgusting. Disney’s workers basically do nothing but take it up the butt on a constant basis for the opportunity of working for Walt Disney.
