Donald Glover and cast love The Hand Job

hehehehehe….”Hand job”.

Not too long ago we reported on a live reading at the Austin Film Festival for Maggie Carey’s prospect script The Hand Job. Back then, Aubrey Plaza was attached for the main role and the script was looking for funding. Today, Collider reports that the likes of Donald Glover, Andy Samberg, Bill Hader (who’s married to writer Maggie Carey), Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Johnny Simmons, Mae Whitman and Alia Shawkat are also attached to star.

For the misinformed, The Hand Job is a comedy set in 1993 about a young woman who graduates high school and is on a quest to gain sexual experience before she goes to college. It made 2009’s Black List of un-produced screenplays and has since been picking up steam. The cast already looks phenomenal and it should be interesting to see a sexual coming of age story told from the female perspective.

Also, in other Donald Glover news, the Childish Gambino EP has been playing non stop at the Flixist offices. For the yet again misinformed, Childish Gambino is Donald Glover’s rap persona which he rhymes about whiskey and Asian women. So if you like those things, feel free to download for free here.
