Dreamworks Animation unveils historically huge film slate

Dreamworks Animation has always been kind of second-string to Pixar, but they’re put out a fair share of decent movies. Say what you want about the Shrek franchise, but it’s made lots of money. Also, I’m sure I’m in the minority here, but I liked Shark Tale and Bee Movie, and I loved Megamind and Monsters Vs. Aliens. Now, making history for an animation studio, DWA is unveiling a whopping twelve upcoming films!

The films are The Croods (March 22, 2013), Turbo (July 19, 2013), Mr. Peabody & Sherman (Nov. 1, 2013), Me and My Shadow (March 14, 2014), How to Train Your Dragon 2 (June 20, 2014), Happy Smekday! (Nov. 26, 2014), The Penguins of Madagascar (March 27, 2015), Trolls (working title, June 5, 2015), B.O.O: Bureau of Otherwordly Operations (Nov. 6, 2015), Mumbai Musical (working title, Dec. 19, 2015), Kung Fu Panda 3 (March 18, 2016), and How to Train Your Dragon 3 (June 18, 2016). For those of you who hate math, that’s three films a year. Love them or hate them, Dreamworks Animation is going to be all up in your business ’til Obama whoever wins this year’s election is out of office.

Anything catch your guys’ eyes? I know I’m excited about the next two HTTYD films, and Mr. Peabody & Sherman has me all kinds of titillated. B.O.O. has the Seth Rogan’s dulcet tones, and Turbo has…some sort of racing snail, based on the picture in the gallery. In any event, it should be a varied four years if nothing else.
