By Days before the conclusion of DC Comics most successful film endeavor, Dwayne Johnson has confirmed that he is in fact interested in portraying notorious space biker/bounty hunter Lobo on the big screen. For those unfamiliar with the character, Lobo is one of DC’s more outlandish characters and hearkens back to an age when kids thought cursing and unnecessary violence were about as cool as it could get. That age was the late 80’s and early 90’s, and I was one of those kids, so I have no shame in admitting this has some serious cool potential.
The Rock goes on to mention that Joel Silver and Brad Peyton — director of Journey 2: The Mysterious Island — are currently working on the project. I’ve never seen Journey 2, and probably never will, but I’m willing to give this the benefit of the doubt as long as I get to see Johnson smashing heads and riding space motorcycles. There really aren’t enough movies with space motorcycles nowadays.
