Falcon and Winter Soldier show gets a release date and a date with Zemo

We already knew about the planned show featuring Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes coming to Disney+ in the future. Now, thanks to Kevin Feige at the Marvel San Diego Comic-Con panel, we have a release window as well as a nice surprise.

Coming in Fall of 2020, the streaming exclusive show will also see the return of Daniel Brühl, which almost completely confirms that Baron Zemo returns after being imprisoned at the end of Captain America: Civil War. While we here at Flixist lament the loss of the lesser-known characters getting the spotlight in the TV shows, I gotta say I’m excited about this show.

Captain America was always my favorite Marvel hero and while Steve Rogers isn’t going to be involved with this show (I don’t think), his fingerprints are all over the show. So to see these characters that all have been influenced in one way or another get the full character development treatment of a TV show, it’s a dream come true for me. the return of Zemo is also great as I feel he wasn’t utilized enough in Civil War from both a character and actor. Brühl is a great actor who can play a great villain, so more screentime from him is always welcome.

It’s also going to be interesting to see how they tie the repercussions of Endgame into this show. I imagine it is going to play a huge part, but how much of this stuff is going to need to be seen to understand the movies? Only time will tell when The Falcon and The Winter Soldier premieres next year.
