By I’m really pumped for John Carter, despite every bulls**t trailer Disney decides to churn out. It’s based on some really rad pulp sci-fi from the man behind Tarzan, it’s directed by WALL-E director Andrew Stanton, and, as this trailer explains, the original stories set the bar for science fiction stories for decades and decades afterward, though the books are all but forgotten now. This fanmade trailer from fansite The John Carter Files actually bothers to mention what the plot is in this flick, which has become harder and harder to suss out from official trailers, especially after the “of Mars” was dropped from the title.
John Carter comes out two weeks from Friday on March 9th. If you’re on the fence about it, I hope this trailer can sway you one way or another.
