At this point, we know next to nothing of Josh Trank’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot other than how different it’s going to be from the original films (and maybe even from the comic books themselves). But it’s got a great cast, weird direction for its main villain, and beneath all of that craziness, we have a oddly generic and mysterious plot synopsis:
THE FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
This sounds like the Fantastic Four we all know, but there’re plenty of hints at something different. I don’t know yet. I’ll hold judgement until we get our first look at footage. That better be soon too because The Fantastic Four releases August 7th next year.[via IGN]
