Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell, Mickey Rourke, and Christopher Walken walk into a bar. Doesn’t that sound like the beginning of an amazing joke? Imagine all of them together in the same film, perhaps directed by the magnificent In Bruges writer/director, Martin McDonagh. Doesn’t it seem too good to be true? Well, rub your rabbit’s feet and tuck your lucky seven-leaf clover into your headbands, because this is happening.
Screened has the goods on the potential casting for McDonagh’s upcoming film, Seven Psycopaths. The film is about Farrell’s character’s attempt at writing a screenplay, titled Seven Psycopaths, as he gets pulled into the shenanigans his two friends (Rockwell and Walken) and their dognapping business. It all comes to head when Rourke’s character’s dog goes missing.
If the casting alone doesn’t turn you on to the film, then McDonagh’s potential should. Of course, this only counts for those who’ve seen In Bruges, and if you haven’t yet, what are you doing here? Go out and buy it, marvel at how amazing the narrative turns, then come back and get excited over this film; I’ll still be here, waiting.[via Screened]
