Meaning, despite the massive and universally widespread ridicule and panning it has endured, up until this weekend, it was the owner of the number 4 all-time biggest weekend opening ever: simply mind-blowing. Perhaps most interesting though, is the reality that F8‘s domestic box office numbers dropped from roughly $150M to $100M, while international numbers had a tremendous uptick from $250M to $432M since Fast 7 was released. While US audiences may be showing signs that they’ve had their fill of Fast and the Furious films, with or without Paul Walker, international audiences are just catching on to how great these movies truly are beginning to be subjected to much larger, more expensive and aggressive marketing campaigns.
