Final Dark Knight Rises trailer attached to Avengers

My review for the UK release of The Avengers – or Marvel Avengers Assemble, as the marketing department is trying to get Brits to call it – will be up by the end of the week, but while you Yanks will have to wait a little longer for the climax to Marvel’s movie masterplan, it will be accompanied by the treat of the final trailer for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. The trailer will not only be shown in all 2D and 3D showings, but the IMAX as well.

IMAX should be the best place to see the trailer too, because Dark Knight Rises has been confirmed as featuring over an hour of footage shot specifically for the format. For comparison, The Dark Knight had only four sequences shot in IMAX, while the acclaimed Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protcol had thirty minutes. It’s fantastic news for everyone who planned on watching the concluding entry in Nolan’s Batman trilogy on the gargantuan screen, which should be everyone, judging by how glorious the prologue ahead of Ghost Protocol was. The Avengers opens in the US on May 4th, and The Dark Knight Rises on July 20th.
