Coming from Sony Pictures Television, the legendary Square Enix RPG franchise will be receiving a live-action series, following in the footsteps of also-announced adaptations of games like Halo and Resident Evil.

Details are minimal, though the series is said to tell “an original story set in the fantastic world of Eorzea,” which first appeared in the massively-multiplayer entry Final Fantasy XIV. Following the motif of many of the previous games, the show will “explore the struggle between magic and technology in a quest to bring peace to a land in conflict.”

Sony Pictures Television and Square Enix are producing for Hivemind, the company behind Netflix’s upcoming The Witcher, another video game adaptation.

The Final Fantasy series has no release date at this time.
