First clip from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has rebels taking out jabroni storm troopers

We’re just two weeks away from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. While the reshoots stoke a little worry in me (according to reports, composer Michael Giacchino only had four and a half weeks to write the score), I remain hopeful that the movie holds together even if it’s a rickety bucket of bolts.

Sort of like the Millennium Falcon.

Felicity Jones was on The Tonight Show and unveiled the first clip from the movie. It features Jyn Erso (Jones) and Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) on the run before laying the smack down on some roody-poo candy-ass storm troopers. Give it a watch below after Felicity Jones beats up Jimmy Fallon (clip starts at 3:10).

It’s 40 seconds, and it’s kind of just a shoot ’em up scene, but I like what’s there. (The laughs at the end come from the Tonight Show audience.) The team dynamic interests me most. The film’s running time is 133 minutes, which is enough to establish the camaraderie and character quirks of a suicide mission strike force.

Seriously, guys, I hope this is like The Dirty Dozen in space.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story comes out December 16th.
